“FRIDAY FLASH” - Contest Updates

The 46th Annual State Leadership & Skills Championship Conference will be held on Friday, April 5th thru Sunday, April 7th, 2013. The conference will be housed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington Mpls. South, 7800 Normandale Boulevard, Bloomington, MN 55435, and (952) 835-7800. Skilled Contests will be held across the twin cities metro area.

Please make sure you are using the “NEW” SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards 2013-2014. The SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards have been revised and new rules will be effective at the 2013 Championships. ALL State Contest and National Contest will be following the new Technical Standards.

E-mails will be sent to the Advisors alerting them of “NEW” Contest UPDATES.
If no additional information is received on a contest, the rules and regulations covering our contests will be based on those found in the SkillsUSA Championships, Technical Standards, except for clothing. State regulation regarding clothing state that is must be appropriate and safe dress for the competition you are participating in, no school or work uniforms or business logo on the clothing. Please make sure all students have appropriate leatherwork shoes or appropriate shoes as required per contest.

All general rules that affect all competitors-are on pages 9-18. All Contestants are required to bring a onepage, typewritten résumé to their contestant meeting; failure to use the proper name of the national organization will result in penalty points being assessed.

No SMOKING and NO Personal Electronic Devices will be allowed in any State SkillsUSA Contest in Minnesota. Contestants will be disqualified!
(This includes Cell Phones, i-Phones, i-Pods, i-Pads, Pagers, Blackberry's, MP3 Players and etc. at any contest!)

There will be NO On Site substitutions this year at all contests. No exceptions!
